Consulting program designed to ease transition to electronic health record keeping

The partnership has been formed to provide members of the Wichita-based not-for-profit organization with a unique program designed to aid physicians in selecting and preparing for an electronic health record (EHR) system.

Company's 95th anniversary celebration is transformed into an afternoon of giving back

Welch Allyn, a leading global manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, sent over 400 employee volunteers to over 20 non-profit organizations across central New York today as part of its new "A Show of Hands" corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign. Another 200 employees were stationed at the company's headquarters assembling international aid, school supply and homeless shelter care kits. The initiative is part of the company's annual Beacon of Quality event, a designated date when local facilities are closed for the day to honor employees. The morning session included business updates and an award ceremony which recognized exceptional employees with the President's Beacon of Quality award—the highest Welch Allyn quality recognition award bestowed on employees.

For the second consecutive year, The Gestion de Negocios named Welch Allyn, a leading global manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, to its list of “The Best Companies to Work For” in Mexico, the country’s most comprehensive study of workplace culture. This year’s ranking represented a leap of 42 spots, as the company moved from #77 in 2009 to #35 this year—a significant accomplishment for the Welch Allyn de Mexico factory that has only been in operation since 2006.  The company won the award in the United States in 2005 and received back-to-back honors in Ireland in 2008 and 2009.

Welch Allyn, a leading manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, today announced it has divested its surgical lighting and specialty metal halide (Solarc®) product lines.  According to President and CEO Julie Shimer, the move is a key step in the company's strategy to exit the surgical headlight and non-medical lighting portion of its business in order to fully focus on diagnostic medical devices, service and solutions for its customers. Welch Allyn plans to work aggressively over the transition period to minimize any impact on employees, and feels if business conditions remain stable most, if not all employees, will be retained and redeployed into the company.

Company Bestows Prestigious President’s Cup, Marketing Excellence Awards at 2010 Sales Meeting

Welch Allyn, a leading manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, recently honored four North American sales and marketing professionals with outstanding performance awards at its 2010 Sales Meeting in Naples, Florida.  Cathy Sweeney of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania; Derek Thompson of Kennebunk, Maine; and Frederic Fhima of Mississauga, Ontario, were winners of the prestigious Welch Allyn President’s Cup, an award given each year to the company’s top sales professionals in both the ambulatory care and acute care markets in the United States and Canada.  In addition, Steve Kenan of Skaneateles received the Marketing Excellence Award.
